Professional Profile

Dr. Sa’id Alkali Kori is a distinguished Nigerian businessman, investment expert, philanthropist, and academician, recognised for his impactful contributions to trade and finance solutions, infrastructure development, and innovation. He has recently been appointed as the Chief Investment Adviser to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno State, and serves as the Pioneer Chairman of the Borno State Investment Promotion Agency.

In addition to these new roles, he currently serves as Technical Advisor to the Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum and Special Adviser on International Relations and Investment to the Yobe State Governor. As Chairman/CEO of ThinkLab Group and Chairman of Fulus Capital Limited, Dr. Kori integrates executive leadership with technical expertise in infrastructure financing and trade-enabling projects.

Dr. Kori also serves as the Chairman of the Nigeria Food Corporation, a premier Agro-food industrial investment. He also chairs the Board of Directors of all its subsidiaries: Nigeria Food Company, Nguru Oil Mills, Yobe Flour and Feeds Mills, Yobe Fertilizer Blending Company, and Wheat Flour Global Mills, among others.

He holds a PhD in Built Environment (Innovation Economics) from the University of Liverpool, an MSc in Architecture (Digital Construction) from the University of Salford, and a Certificate in Digital Architecture from Aalto University.

As the senior executive responsible for project financing, development, and portfolio strategy at Family Homes Funds Limited (FHFL), he led the implementation of Nigeria's largest affordable housing initiative. He spearheaded the structuring of high-value Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), multilateral financing transactions, and end-to-end housing delivery programmes that resulted in the development of over 15,000 affordable housing units nationwide. His leadership combined investment negotiation, innovative financing structures, risk management, and cross-sector stakeholder engagement to advance Nigeria's economic inclusion and urban development objectives.

Large-Scale Investment Mobilization & Deal Structuring

He negotiated and secured more than US$100 million in financing from multilateral development institutions, including the World Bank, African Development Bank (AfDB), and Shelter Afrique, alongside support from the Federal Government and private sector investors to finance affordable housing developments.
